Alan P. Gustafson, Jr.
Alan P. Gustafson, Jr. focuses his practice on providing quality, cost-effective legal services to individuals and businesses in the construction, community association, business, insurance and commercial fields or industries.
Since 2007, Alan has practiced with other Florida law firms but with a sustained focus on construction law, community association law, and litigation. He has represented general contractors, subcontractors, individuals, community associations and businesses as lead counsel and co-counsel in disputes regarding construction defects, surety bonds, breaches of contract, construction liens, covenant enforcement and professional licensing requirements; and has provided counsel in general planning and evaluation of risk management practices. Alan has also practiced in the areas of general civil litigation, community association law, and product liability. Prior to private practice, Alan served as an assistant state attorney with the Tenth Judicial Circuit of Florida; among various duties, he served as lead counsel in over 20 jury trials and numerous bench trials in both misdemeanor and felony level criminal cases.
Alan received his Juris Doctor cum laude from Stetson University College of Law at Gulfport, Florida in 2007 and Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio in 2004 graduating with a major in English. He is licensed to practice law in Florida. Alan is a member of the Florida Bar’s Construction Law Committee, and Real Property Probate and Trust Section. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Middle District of Florida, Southern District of Florida, and the Northern District of Florida.
Alan was born in Newark, Ohio. In 2012, he met his future wife, Anxhela, in Tampa, Florida. Anxhela, who was born in Albania, performs pediatric disease research for a national, non-profit hospital headquartered in Tampa. The couple currently live in Safety Harbor, Florida with their daughter, Riley, and their son, William.
